Management team

Mr. Bechan Giri, Executive Chief
Mr. Giri has rich and diverse experience in commercial banking, agriculture finance, research, and microfinance. Before being appointed as Executive Chief of CSD in December 2017, he had worked for 27 years at the Nepal Bank Ltd., with the last position as its Deputy General Manager. He had also led NADEP Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. as the CEO for a short period of time. During his initial years, Mr. Giri also worked at the Department of Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture and at the Agriculture Projects Services Centre (APROSC). He holds a Master's degree in Agriculture Development and Rural Finance from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom.
 
Mr. Satish Shrestha, Director
Mr. Shrestha is currently working as a Director in CSD. He started his career in CSD from the year 2010 as a Deputy Director. He holds a Master's Degree in HRM from Kathmandu University. He has more than 10 years of experience in the microfinance sector and is a fully Certified Trainer of Asian Development Bank and World Bank's MFToT course. He has participated in various training and seminar including the Global Micro-Summit Campaign held at Valladolid, Spain in 2011.
 
Mr. Sopan Bista, Assistant Director
Mr. Bista is currently working in CSD  as an Assistant Director.  He has been involved in carrying out research in various thematic areas of microfinance. Previously he worked in Alternative Energy Promotion Centre/UNCDF/CleanStart where he was involved in supporting commercial banks and microfinance institutions in achieving renewable energy targets. He had been involved in providing technical and financial support to financial institutions in installing and financing renewable energy to more than one hundred thousand households.  He also played a supportive role in carrying out nearly 10000 surveys for the clients of financial institutions using apps as part of quantitative data analysis to examine the impact of the CleanStart Program as well as to explore the market of RE financing. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from India and MBA from Kathmandu University.
 
Ms. Renu Prajapati, Senior Officer
Ms. Renu Prajapati is working as a Senior Officer in CSD. She is a Certified Trainer of Asian Development Bank and World Bank’s Microfinance Training of Trainers course. At CSD she is involved in designing and coordinating training programs, workshops, conferences, webinars as well as exposure visit programs at the national and international levels. She plays an active role in all programs of CSD and is equally active in handling general administrative work. She completed her MBA Degree from Pokhara University.
 
Mr. Chandrakanta Pandit, Media and Communications Officer
Mr. Pandit who had decade-long experience in Media and Communications joined CSD in March 2020. Prior to CSD, he worked for different genres of media:, Newspapers, Radios, and Televisions. He also had his share of experience as Documentarian in TV and Social Media. He had also worked to formulate Media and Communications Strategies and Planning for numerous NGOs/INGOs. Besides he also facilitates journalist training sessions with a focus on Environmental Journalism. He has completed his Masters Degree from TU Nepal on Journalism and Masscommunication.  
 
Ms. Bigya Gyawali, Environment and Entrepreneurship development Officer
Ms. Bigya Gyawali, who currently works in CSD as an Environment and Entrepreneurship development Officer has almost 10 years of experience in the development sector, especially in the sector of environment conservation, natural resources management and livelihood, since 2013. Additionally, she has about five years of teaching experience at the secondary level. She has earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Khwopa College, TU. Having completed her different roles in remarkable Organizations such as IUCN Nepal, National Reconstruction Authority, Environment and Resource Management Consultant and Forest Action Nepal, she has come up to now with noteworthy on hand experience in the diverse components of project management such as project development, implementation, communication, capacity building and publications. She is passionate about sharing knowledge in her network and learning new subjects relentlessly. Research and communication skills are some of her professional strengths.
Ms. Selestey Badal, Account Officer
Ms. Selestey Badal is currently working as an Account Officer in CSD. She started her career in CSD from 6th November 2022. She holds a Master's degree in Business Studies (MBS) from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. She has got more than 7 years' experience in Accounting Sectors and have knowledge of accounting practice in Nepal.

Ms. Saru Magar, Senior Assistant

Ms. Saru Magar entered the service of CSD from the post of trainee assistant on April 26, 2022. She is currently working as a Senior Assistant.Ms Saru Magar, a Bachelor of Management from Tribhuvan University, Nepal has previously played the role of enumerator in the Government of Nepal National Census 2078. She has also worked in various studies, research and surveys in the role of data Collection and date entry.

 

Ms. Sujata Khadka, Senior Assistant
Ms. Sujata Khadka joined CSD as a assistant in 2023. She holds a bachelor degree in business studies (BBS) from TU, and is currently pursuing Master degree in Business Studies (MBS) from TU. She has experience of three years in accounting sectors and further has worked as a freelancer.
Ms. Bhawana adhikari, Assistant
Ms. Bhawana Adhikari Joined CSD as a Trainee Assistant and supporting on to answer phone calls, greet visitors, scheduling appointments, managing mails, maintaining office supplies and providing general support to the office. She is currently studying Bachelors of Business Studies from the Tribhuwan University (TU), Nepal.
Mr. Devesh Pradhan, Trainee Assistant
Mr. Devesh Pradhan commenced his role as a trainee assistant at CSD on August 26, 2023. In his current capacity, he is actively engaged in supporting research studies and data analysis, in addition to providing general office assistance. Mr. Pradhan possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics (Honors) from North Bengal University (NBU), India. He brings with him valuable experience gained from participating in several independent undergraduate research projects and engaging in research writing, graphics design, and C/C++ programming over a period of six months. Furthermore, he has a year's worth of experience working as a freelancer in the e-commerce industry. Presently, Mr. Pradhan is dedicating his time to acquiring proficiency in various research and data analysis tools, including SQL and Python programming.

Mr. Sujan Moktan, Trainee Assistant

Mr. Sujan Moktan started his Journey on CSD as a Trainee Assistant on August 26, 2023. He has over a year of experience as a Cashier and has volunteered to programs of NGOs Like, Chetana Nepal. He has also lead awareness programs, Environment program. Additionally, He was also involved in workshop of Counselling Psychology Nepal and currently He is studying Bachelors of Arts in Social Work from (TU), Nepal.

Mr. Krishan Khadka, Trainee Agri-Assistant
Mr. Krishana Khadka joins Center for Self-help Development as a trainee Agri-Assistant from February 2024. Khadka has completed diploma in agriculture (Plant Science) affiliated to CTEVT in 2023.
Mr. Ramesh Rokaya, Trainee Agri-Assistant
Mr. Ramesh Rokaya joins Center for Self-help Development as a trainee Agri-Assistant from February 2024. He has completed diploma in agriculture (Plant Science) affiliated to CTEVT in 2023.
