CSD Held Review of Entrepreneurship Development Training

The Centre for Self-help Development (CSD) held a six-month progress review of its second training on "Identification and Development of Micro-entrepreneurs" on September 12, 2021, which was organized on December 20-21, 2020  with the participation of  20 Branch managers from 12 MFIs

During the review, each participant presented his/her progress achieved on the action plan formulated after the training for the identification of potential micro-entrepreneur clients and lending them based on their business plan. The Branch Manager also discussed on the problem faced during the implementation as key learnings.

Fear of uncertainty due to COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdown has been the major reason for failing to meet the target of creating new entrepreneurs. However, participants also viewed that enterprises like agricultural farming, animal husbandry, and grocery stores were doing well even in the Covid situation. Interestingly, there was also good development of new enterprising clients who could take benefits from this adverse situation. An enterprise like flower planting, vegetable farming has flourished.

Mr. Bechan Giri, Executive Chief of CSD, facilitated the review program. On the occasion, He advised the participants not to give up despite the difficult time and encouraged them to achieve their target of making successful entrepreneurs in the coming days.
