The Outstanding Entrepreneur Members Award for 2081/82 was presented to three exemplary women entrepreneurs in recognition of their remarkable entrepreneurial achievements and contributions to socioeconomic transformation through microenterprise development.
The award recipients are Ms. Lila Kumari Tharu of Madhyabindu Municipality–5, Daunbari, Nawalparasi, a member of Nawaprativa SACCOS; Ms. Sharmila Thebe of Haldibari Rural Municipality–1, Kocha Tole, Jhapa, a member of Sahara SACCOS; and Ms. Sunita Tharu of Barbardiya Municipality–6, Jabarpur, Bardiya, a member of Unique Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd.
Ms. Lila Kumari Tharu is engaged in pig farming alongside operating a grocery store. Ms. Sharmila Thebe has established her livelihood through pig farming, while Ms. Sunita Tharu is engaged in diversified agricultural enterprises, including livestock farming involving cows, goats, and pigs, as well as vegetable and corn farming.
Initiated in 2075/76, the Outstanding Entrepreneur Members Award recognizes members of microfinance institutions who have demonstrated exemplary socioeconomic transformation through their microenterprises. Each award recipient is honored with a cash prize of NPR 50,000 and an appreciation letter, recognizing their entrepreneurial spirit, resilience, and contribution to improving livelihoods through enterprise development.
