Community Self-help Development Project (CSDP)

CSDP, Jumla, which was launched as a pilot action program in Ghodemahadev and Malikathata VDCs of Jumla district in 1992, was the first community development program implemented by CSD. The project was started in partnership with the Canadian Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI). It was extended to three more VDCs in 1993. The objective of the program was to bring the poor and the disadvantaged section of the population to participate in their own development activities. Target group members were helped in organizing themselves into functional sectoral Community Based Organizations (CBOs) to take up various socio-economic development programs.
