CSD is the first licensed NGO MFI. It is the pioneer of the microfinance service providers of Nepal based on collateral free loan and women exclusive clients. It initiated Self-help Banking Program (SBP), a microfinance program, in 1993. In the year 2011 CSD transferred its microfinance portfolio to the Swabalamban Laghubitta Bikas Bank Ltd. Since then it concentrated mainly on the capacity building of MFIs and Cooperatives. Kick starting the year 2017, the Centre for Self-help Development (CSD) organized the first exposure visit to our neighboring country, India, to observe the operations of Bandhan Bank Ltd. which originated in the cultural hub of West Bengal. Cooperative Board Officials reach a Declaration

The Centre organized a two-day seminar for the Board Officials of the prominent microfinance cooperatives of Nepal on the request of various Cooperative Institutional Members of the Centre for Self-help Development (CSD).The program took place from November 9 – 10, 2016 in the capital city, Kathmandu.

CSD 25th Annual General Meeting

CSD held its 25th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday October 23, 2016 in a homely atmosphere at its training hall in Kathmandu. It was attended by 7 Individual Members and 20 Institutional Members.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Shankar Man Shrestha, Chairman of the Governing Board of CSD. On the occasion, Executive Director Mr. Shanker Nath Kapali welcomed the delegates and presented brief highlights on CSD's progress.
